These terms and conditions govern your use of the Protection Connect website and, together with your broker agreement, the supply of consumer enquiries through the Protection Connect marketplace. By using this website or applying for a broker account you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
Protection Connect is a trading style of PJG Financial Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). You can contact us at hello@protectionconnect.co.uk.
2. Eligibility
The Protection Connect marketplace is a business to business service. We only supply enquiries to firms that are covered by FCA authorisation, either as a directly authorised firm or as an appointed representative of an authorised principal. We verify every applicant against the Financial Services Register, Companies House and the ICO register, and we may decline or withdraw an account at our discretion.
3. Accounts and approval
Submitting an application does not create an account. Accounts are created only once our review is complete and we have confirmed approval to you. You must ensure that the information you give us is accurate and kept up to date, and that only authorised people within your firm operate your account.
4. The marketplace
- You define the enquiry criteria you wish to receive and the price you are prepared to pay per enquiry.
- Enquiries are allocated in real time based on broker demand, criteria and pricing. Each enquiry is supplied to a single broker and is not resold by us afterwards.
- We do not guarantee any particular volume of enquiries, conversion rate or business outcome.
- Invalid enquiries, for example those with unobtainable contact details, may be credited in line with the returns policy set out in your broker agreement.
5. Charges and payment
You are charged the price applicable to each enquiry delivered to you. Charges are invoiced periodically in arrears and are payable by the date shown on the invoice. Credit limits apply to all accounts and buying may be paused when an unpaid balance reaches your credit limit. We may suspend supply where invoices are overdue.
6. Your obligations for enquiry data
On delivery of an enquiry you become an independent controller of the personal data it contains. You must process it in accordance with UK data protection law, use it only to respond to the consumer's request for life insurance advice or quotations, and not resell, share or reuse it for any other purpose. You must maintain an appropriate privacy notice and ICO registration for as long as you hold the data.
7. Acceptable use
You must not misuse this website, attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, scrape or harvest data from them, or use the marketplace in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation, including FCA rules and rules on marketing communications.
8. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including the Protection Connect name, logo, design and copy, belongs to us or our licensors and may not be reproduced without our permission.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of business, and our total liability arising in connection with the marketplace in any 12 month period is limited to the charges you paid to us in that period.
10. Termination
Either party may close the account at any time. There are no minimum terms or exit fees. Charges accrued up to closure remain payable, and clauses which by their nature should survive termination, including clause 6, continue to apply.
11. General
We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
