This policy explains how Protection Connect, a trading style of PJG Financial Ltd, collects and uses personal data. We are the controller for the data described below. Contact: hello@protectionconnect.co.uk.
1. Data we collect
Consumers requesting life insurance quotes
When you request quotes through one of our websites we collect your name, contact details, date of birth, smoker status, the amount and term of cover you are interested in, and your consent choices.
Brokers and applicants
When a firm applies for a broker account we collect the applicant's name, role and work contact details, and firm information including FCA reference numbers, company details and ICO registration number. We also keep records of enquiries delivered, account activity and invoicing.
2. How we use consumer data
We use your enquiry to introduce you to a single FCA authorised life insurance broker whose requirements match your enquiry, so that they can contact you about the quote you requested. The lawful basis is your consent, which you give when you submit the enquiry and which you can withdraw at any time. We also keep records to meet our legal obligations and to operate our service (legitimate interests).
3. Who we share it with
Your enquiry is shared with one matched broker only. It is not sold to lists, resold to multiple firms or shared for unrelated marketing. We also use service providers who host our systems and deliver messages on our behalf, under contracts that protect your data.
4. How we use broker data
We use application data to verify your firm against the Financial Services Register, Companies House and the ICO register, to operate your account and to invoice you. The lawful bases are contract and legitimate interests.
5. Retention
We keep enquiry and account records for as long as needed to operate the service and to meet legal, regulatory, tax and audit obligations, and then delete or anonymise them.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right contact hello@protectionconnect.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
7. Security and transfers
Data is stored on secured infrastructure within the UK, the EEA or countries with appropriate safeguards, and access is limited to those who need it.
8. Cookies

9. Changes
We will update this page if our practices change, and the current version always applies.
